Guilford Gifted Educator Grants

Guilford Gifted is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization supporting our community’s brightest young minds with strong advocacy for the advancement of gifted education. We provide the tools to engage and empower all those involved with gifted children, thereby building tomorrow’s leaders today.

Educator Grants are intended to support programs for gifted learners, such as classroom projects, field trips, clubs/teams, and technical resources and classroom equipment.  These awards are intended to assist educators in expanding their students’ knowledge and experience  in or out of the classroom.

A maximum of two awards totaling in the amount of $1,000.00

Eligibility - Each applicant must be: 

An elementary, middle, or high school teacher in Guilford County. 

A member of Guilford Gifted.

A completed electronic application, including a letter of intent signed by an administrator of the applicant's school. 

Grant funds must be earmarked for the remainder of the 2024-25 academic year or prospectively for 2025-26.

Provide a detailed description of your proposed need.  This should include anticipated cost, logistics, and positive impact on students.  Each proposal should indicate the number of students affected and the applicant’s goal.

Proposals are flexible.  For example, applicants may seek funds for a student club or outside team (e.g., robotics, Science Olympiad), needed technology (e.g., printer, software), defray field trip costs or an enriching classroom project. 

Use of funds must be certified to Guilford Gifted by a school administrator. 

We are eager to learn about the needs and goals of our stellar Guilford County educators and help however we can. 

Application Deadline - Applications open January each year.

Announcement -  The grant winner(s) will be notified on or before May 1

*Guilford Gifted will take a photo of the recipient to share with our membership and to help support fundraising efforts.
